How to Eliminate Nail Fungus Permanently

July 29, 2017

Nail fungus is a dangerous infection that affects many people around the world. It can significantly affect how you live your everyday life, especially if the growth spreads to parts that are visible, such as your fingernails, which is extremely normal to happen.

According to reports, 10% of Americans suffer from this disease at some point in their life, but in most cases, it gets unnoticed as it sorts out on its own.

However, in some extreme cases, you would need nail fungal infection treatment.

Nail fungus are of various types and have different effects on an individual. Therefore, there is no one treatment as the solution depends on a number of factors including the reason for the problem and the severity.

The most common type of nail fungus is Onychomycosis. There are four distinctive subtypes of this condition. Onychomycosis is a typical kind of nail bacteria which influences around 8% of adults around the globe.

How To Get Rid of Nail Fungus

First, we need to realize that nail fungus can occur both in the fingernails as well as the toenails. Usually, it starts with a white or a yellow dot on the nail but if treatment is avoided, it can overgrow on the whole nail, even on the nail bed.

Examine Nail Fungus

In order for a treatment to be effective, a new nail must develop and replace the old, infected nail. This requires a great deal of time, depending upon the seriousness of the growth. If any part of the nail remains untreated then it won’t be fruitful and the growth will reoccur once after a while.

Getting Rid Of Nail Fungus Via Meds

  • Anti-fungal pills are effective in neutralizing the fungus. It is one of the most widely recognized and viable treatments. Some of the anti-fungal meds that are highly effective include clotrimazole, terbinafine, and itraconazole.

Nail Fungus: 5 Myths to Bust

Nail fungus is a common disease which can occur to anybody, and is said to be more common among people over the age of 60. There are some people who are well informed about the symptoms and correct treatment regarding nail fungus but there are still some people who believe in the false things related to nail fungus. They are nothing but myths.

Without further ado, let us have a look at 5 nail fungus myths that we need to bust:

Myth #1 – Only Unhygienic People Can Get Nail Fungus

Despite the fact that we’d all jump at the chance to conclude that onychomycosis (nail fungus) just hits unhygienic people, it is utterly wrong. One thing to realize is that nail fungus loves to develop in dull, moist spots.

While it is true that the risk factor is increased if you do not take care of hygiene, but believing that bathing daily and other such acts will protect you is wrong. The problem usually occurs in summers, due to wearing gloves and socks etc., and that’s what has to be beaten.

Myth #2 – Nail Fungus Can Be Cured By Removing The Nail

Sometimes, nail fungus ends up getting severely ugly and affects the entire nail. When this is the case, a surgical treatment is a must. However, this is not the only solution.

Removal of the nail is not an initial option but the last. Although this technique is carried out by sedating the patient, it still shows its effects afterward. The best choice is to have your nails treated early so that a surgery can be avoided.

Myth #3 – It Does Not Take Much Time To Cure Nail Fungus

This thinking is also wrong. Nail fungus requires time to heal because the medications need to penetrate the nail and reach the bed and to achieve that, the patient is required to apply medications for many months.

The correct way is to keep applying the medication on the contaminated nail until you get positive results and decrease the level of pain and the new nail starts to develop in. There’s no doubt that this requires some serious time.

The development of new nails is very slow. Studies have shown that the development rates to be as follows:

●    Fingernails: 3 mm a month

●    Toenails: 1 mm a month

This implies it would require a long time for a contaminated nail to be replaced by a new nail. And the saying that it does not require plenty of time is a myth.

Myth #4 – White Spots On Your Nail Imply That You Need To Consume More Calcium

The white spot on our nail can mean so much more than a deficiency of calcium. The truth is that these can be a sign of something serious, such as nail fungus.

Studies have confirmed that these white spots don’t show a particular vitamin insufficiency.

  • What to do when these white spots show up?

There is no better treatment, however, to grow them out. Our nails are transitory parts of our body that will develop and improve with time.

If these spots give off an impression of being darker than common, it’s best to counsel a doctor because you might be developing a nail fungus over your nail.

Myth # 5 – OTC Medicines are The Best

Never go for OTC medicines as pedefix side effects are common. The best option is to go to a doctor or try home remedies. While OTC medicines are pretty cheap and come easily, the side effects can be a big problem.

Now that the myths have been busted, we hope you’d be in a better position to safeguard yourself.

How to Treat Nail Fungus

July 27, 2017

Nail fungus is a condition that many people go through at least once in their life. Fungus is something which is present everywhere around us, living on our skin, on household objects, floors, showers, shoes etc. Many people do not pay attention to the possibility that these micro-fungi can find a place under our nail, causing nail fungus.

Nail fungus is a dangerous condition which affects your health as well as how you are perceived.

Symptoms

The symptoms of the disease are pretty common. They include:

  • Thickening of the nail
  • Change in the color of your nails (a yellowish color begins to spread over the entire nail)
  • The nail form a distorted shape and turns black

If you happen to observe such a condition, waste no time and go to a doctor to get checked for nail fungus and start the treatment immediately. However, it must be mentioned that these signs do not guarantee the presence of nail fungus, but it is better to get checked.

Ways To Treat Nail Fungus

Normally, nail fungus start off as small white or yellow dots of fungus over the nail. This fungus can grow and spread very rapidly. When you observe these spots, immediately, refer a doctor to get treatment.

You have the option to try OTC medicines as well, but they come with several side effects. A big problem is that most OTC medication doesn’t enter the nail all the way down to the nail bed and this may result in the re-occurrence of the infection. The solution to this issue is that you keep on applying the medication regularly at least twice for a longer period of time so that a positive outcome can be obtained. Moreover, you must buy a good quality OTC medicine, if you must.

The side effects of a more severe contamination include thickened, stained nails that may be inflicting too much pain. In these circumstances, you need to see a doctor who can make a treatment plan for you which may include:

  • Debridement

The thickened bits of the nail can be debrided, removed so that the pain can be reduced and when the affected area is debrided, the medication can reach the nail bed easily.

  • Topical Drug

This kind of treatment includes over the counter medication or sometimes what the doctor recommended. Shockingly, topical medications do not generally work when the infection is severe and have taken over most of the nail area. The fungus crowds the nail and the medications fail to reach all the tiny and hidden parts under the nail.

  • Oral Medication

Oral medications have a good effect over the fungus if the procedure is practiced for at least three months. If the patient is suffering from other diseases then it would be a wise choice to consult a doctor before taking any medications, as it may trigger a reaction.

  • Nail Removal

If your condition is bad then the doctor might prescribe to remove your  infected nail so that a new fungus free nail could take its place. This requires a surgery that is painful and costly as well. This is why it is important that you go to a doctor before the condition worsens so that the nail can be saved.

Treating The Fungus By Mixing The Best Home Ingredients

Olive Oil/Tea Tree Oil/Baking Soda

Making and applying a mixture of olive oil, tea tree oil and baking soda is effective in eliminating the nail fungus. Tea tree oil is a widely used ingredient that helps to neutralize nail fungus. This oil is antibacterial and antifungal in nature, therefore it helps to fight the fungus and eliminate it. When using this oil, make sure that you first dilute the oil before using it over the damaged nail and you take the correct quantity of the oil and mix with the right ingredients, which is:

  • A single teaspoon of tea tree oil.
  • Half tea spoon of olive oil.
  • Half spoon of baking soda.
  • Apply the mixture with the help of cotton.

When you have these ingredients, mix them together make a paste out of it and apply gently over the affected area with a cotton ball.

How To Reduce Or Eliminate Wrinkles

Beauty may be more than skin deep, but it sure is nice to beautiful skin anyway. Unfortunately, you may be dealing with common skin issues like wrinkles, sun damage, and stretch marks that make you a little self-conscious when you’re out on a date. One effective way of taking care of your skin better is to begin a daily skin care regime. However, before you start, you need to know your skin type.

If your skin is flaky, then you have dry skin. If it’s greasy, you have oily skin. If your cheeks are dry, forehead, nose and chin are oily, then you have combination skin. Finally, if your skin burns or itches when you apply makeup or a beauty product, then you have sensitive skin. Once you know your skin type, you can then decide on the best products to cleanse, exfoliate, and moisturize your skin. If you have wrinkles Dermaclara advanced skincare anti-aging system called Advanced Silicone Fusion Technology can be added to your routine.

How Skin Ages

Before looking for a solution to wrinkling, it helps to understand why wrinkles form in the first place. Essentially, wrinkles are a sign of skin aging, which causes your skin to undergo radical changes. When you skin ages, your cells start to divide much more slowly and the dermis, the inner layer of the skin, begins to get thinner, making your skin more vulnerable to damage.  Since this dermis creates the structure for the upper layer of your skin, the epidermis, this layer now starts to get looser and unravel. The result is that your skin looks older, sags, and furrows.

Another reason for wrinkles other than the structural damage to the dermis layer is that the oil secreting glands in the inner skin may shrink, which leaves your skin without a protective cover of oil. In time, your skin’s ability to stay moisturized steadily begins to decrease, and the result is your skin begins to look scaly.

Factors Affecting Skin Aging

Skin aging does not necessarily reflect biological age. You can have skin that looks older than your age.

Here are 3 common factors associated with premature skin aging:

  1. Photo aging.

Since sunlight has ultraviolet radiation, exposure to excessive sunlight, as in sunbathing or spending all day surfing, can accelerate skin aging. Scientists have identified two types of ultraviolet radiation that damage the skin: ultraviolet A (UVA) and ultraviolet B (UVB).

Prevention consists of reducing exposure to sunlight and wearing sunscreen with SPF. Treatment depends on how much the skin has been damaged.  If the damage is not too extensive, with the photo damage only resulting in deep wrinkles, then dermabrasion, chemical peels, laser therapy, and inject able skin fillers can be used to make skin look younger again.

However, if the damage is extensive, and photo damage has resulted in tissue sagging rather than just wrinkling, then the most effective course of action might be cosmetic surgery. Depending on the affected area, you could get a forehead lift, a facelift, or a neck lift.

  1. Poor Diet.

Eating foods loaded with additives, preservatives, and too much salt, sugar, and fat, can undermine the health of the dermis layer of the skin. This in turn will affect the epidermis, which will form blemishes and wrinkles. According to a study that was published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, four fruits with the highest “total antioxidant capacity” of any other food were blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, and plums. Samantha Heller, a clinical nutritionist at NYU Medical Center in New York City, explains: “When you help protect the cells from damage and disintegration, you also guard against premature aging. In this respect, these fruits may very well help keep your skin younger looking longer.”

  1. Environmental Damage

Apart from sunlight and a poor diet, other factors can also accelerate the creation of wrinkles.

  • · Cigarette smoke creates free radicals and this causes skin problems.
  • · Cannabis smoke also affects the skin, causing the skin to not get enough oxygen.
  • · Air pollution reduces the level of vitamin E levels, and this vitamin is an powerful antioxidant against free radical damage.

Although it’s distressing to get wrinkles, especially if they make you look far older than your actual age, there is plenty you can do to reduce or eliminate them.

  • Stress is an important factor that will translate to your skin health. Make sure that you keep stress at low levels so that you won’t have to worry about big skin problems as well as other things at the same time.
  • Stress can also manifest on your skin in the form of an acne breakout. It’s important to have an acne cream at the ready in case something like that happens and to treat it immediately. The longer it lingers, the worse it gets.

The Effective Korean Skincare Regime

It is important to understand that the main focus of the various Korean skincare regimes is hydration. Keeping the skin well moisturized and hydrated will add to its radiance and suppleness. The glow that a healthy skin gives off cannot be matched by any other product and this glow is very much attainable through the Korean skincare regimes. This skincare also focuses on the layering technique, which is why the products used are usually lighter than the ones available in the market. This helps with the process of layering and getting maximum benefits out of the ingredients used.

For many years now, the Korean skincare regimes and products are gaining popularity all over the world for their effectiveness. This is the reason we have researched about them so others can introduce the same into their lives and gain from its benefits.

The morning skincare regime

An ideal skincare routine in the morning after waking up follows the following key steps, which play a vital role in keeping the skin fresh. It is advised to get up early and invest time in these steps but the benefits of following the same do not go unnoticed or unappreciated. One of the first things to do in the morning after waking up is to splash the face with water. This does not involve using cleanser, rather making use only of the water to get rid of the impurities from night on the face. Also the direct contact of water with the skin help the pores in capturing the moisture and keeping the skin hydrated for longer.

Use of products

The next part involves using the different toners in which the toner comes first. When using the different products for face it must be remembered to balance the pH level of the skin and finding the right toner. The main benefit of using a toner is that it will keep the skin supple and allow maximum absorption of the other products applied. Some of the products used in the Korean skin care include;

Essence

In order to add to the cellular turnover of the skin and to flaunt that perfect youthful glow, a layeringof an essence over the toner works well.

Ampoule

The next layer applied is that of ampoule which is concentrated with the specific ingredients to target and boost the areas which need them.

 Serum

In order to get rid of and prevent the skin problems that may include wrinkles and dark spots, the Korean skincare regimes also include the use of the serum after ampoule which is full of active ingredients.

Eye cream

The Korean beauty products are lighter so that they can be layered on top of one another. The use of eye cream is a must when it comes to skincare.

It is applied across the brows and on the socket bone as well. When applying the movement is ensured to keep from the inner to the outer corner. Since this area has no sweat glands and has the thinnest skin it is important to keep it well hydrated around the clock.

Moisturizer

After application of the eye cream a light water based moisturizer is applied on the skin to keep the moisture locked for longer hours.

Sunscreen

The Korean regimes for skincare realize that the UV rays age the skin early and lead to other skin complications. Thus, they recommend the use of this product which is incorporated in their daily skincare regimes.

Cleansers/Removers

When it comes to cleaning the skin, mostly the Korean skin care experts suggest the oil based cleansers. The oil based cleansers wipe off even the toughest makeup products gently and effectively. The best way to use the oil based cleansers is to massage it gently on dry skin of the neck and face. This will allow breaking up the layers of the applied makeup and loosening the dirt. To wash the cleanser off the use of lukewarm water is suggested. If required, this procedure can be repeated. However, this is not the end of the cleansing process as in the case of normal skincare. In fact, the Korean skincare requires double cleansing, which means washing off the residues left behind by the oil based cleanser with a water soluble cleanser.

Exfoliator

Nothing mars the looks of the skin more than dead cell buildup. Those who have sensitive skin might not be able to cleanse their skin of the dead cells every day. However, the Korean skincare recommends exfoliation twice in a week for all. As the dead layers of cells is removed the clogging of the pores minimizes and it allows the applied skincare products to work more effectively. The exfoliation process also adds to the natural shine of the skin leaving it smooth and even.

Toner

One of the most important skincare product is the toner. This helps in balancing the pH level of the skin and keeps it hydrated. Like a sponge, if the skin is all dried up it becomes impossible for the applied products to penetrate through the pores. This is where the toners play their part and help in locking the hydration into the skin. The best way to apply the toners is by applying on the skin directly and patting the face. However, a cotton swab can also be used for its application.

Essence

The Korean skincare approaches focus a lot on the use of the essence which is a hybrid between a toner and a serum. It is used not only to repair and rejuvenate the skin but also to hydrate it further to keep the skin supple and looking youthful.

Sheet masks

The Korean sheet masks are popular all over the world. These are very effective against specific skin problems like wrinkles, pigmentation and other related issues. These sheet masks are packed with the active ingredients that are absorbed into the poresto work on the and its imperfections. The best part about these masks is that they are extremely easy to apply and one only needs to put the sheet on their face and relax for the time duration specified to provide the required treatment to their skin.

The night skincare regime

The night time skincare routine involves first using an oil-based cleanser for removing makeup and dirt, which is followed by water based cleanser to remove the residues. Next step involves using a gentle exfoliator to get rid of dead skin. This is followed by the use of toner, essence, ampoule, serum, eye cream and moisturizer. Sometimes once a week the use of sheet mask is also recommended which is applied before applying the eye cream.

Is Your Daily Routine Helping or Hurting Your Skin?

Being that it’s on the outside of your body, it’s easy to forget that your skin is an organ. It’s the organ that protects us from harmful pollution, injury and infections – not to mention cancer-causing UV rays. Skin is our body’s frontline of defense and it takes a beating.

Taking care of your skin is about more than looking younger and more attractive. It’s about keeping your whole body healthy. The first step is identifying your skin type.

Choosing the Right Daily Use Products for Your Skin

Protecting and nurturing your skin largely depends on your unique needs. We all have the same skin structure, but the quality and type of skin we have can vary from one person to the next.

There are five types of skin, all of which require specific types of products:

  • ·  Normal Skin
  • ·  Dry Skin
  • ·  Oily Skin
  • ·  Combination Skin
  • ·  Sensitive Skin

Before we break down the characteristics of each skin type and the products that work best, you can cut right to the chase if you don’t have sensitive skin. An all-inclusive kit like Dermaclara Complete is a great option because it includes everything you need for total skin care and the products complement one another. Kits are usually developed to make product selection simple and work well for most skin types.

Normal Skin

If you fall into this category count yourself as lucky. Despite the name, few people have normal skin that is well balanced and has few imperfections to work around. You can use a variety of products, including basic ones that keep your skin clean and hydrated.

Dry Skin

Dry skin is a serious problem for a number of reasons. First off, it’s an indicator that your body could be dehydrated. Second, dry skin is more susceptible to injury and infection because it tears and cracks easily. Third, it just doesn’t look good. Dry skin has a flaky, rough texture that makes the skin look dull and exaggerates fine lines.

Oddly enough, dry skin is also more acne prone because pores get clogged easily.

Products to look for:

  • ·  Soap-free cleanser
  • ·  Alcohol-free toner
  • ·  Rich cream moisturizers
  • ·  Gentle exfoliating scrub that can be used several times a week
  • ·  Hydrating mask that can be worn once or twice a week

Oily Skin

Anyone who has oily skin is constantly fighting the shine. It occurs because there’s an overproduction of oil in skin glands that may be brought on by hormonal imbalances or stress. This type of skin is very prone to blackheads and acne, but at least it’s well hydrated.

You may notice that your skin is a little less oily during the winter when the air is drier.

Products to look for:

  • ·  Oil-free cleanser
  • ·  Alcohol-free toner
  • ·  Gel moisturizers
  • ·  Products containing charcoal to shrink pores
  • ·  Products labeled noncomedogenic
  • ·  Products that include salicylic acid

Combination Skin

This type of skin is a combination of dry or normal in some areas and oily in others. On the face, people are usually oily in their T-zone (forehead, nose area and chin) and dry or normal everywhere else. Skin on the body tends to be normal as well, but may be dry and rough at the joints. The majority of people fall into this category.

Products to look for:

  • ·  Multiple masks that can be combined into a single treatment
  • ·  Blackhead treatment for the T-zone
  • ·  Treatment to shrink/tighten pores
  • ·  Moisturizing lotion

Sensitive Skin

Does your skin get irritated easily? If so, you probably have sensitive skin. Some people are born with sensitive skin, but a number of products can also increase skin sensitivity. There may also be an environmental or allergic trigger that makes your skin more sensitive.

Products to look for:

  • ·  Fragrance-free products
  • ·  Soap-free cleanser
  • ·  Products labeled gentle or mild
  • ·  Products made for sensitive skin
  • ·  Products made with natural ingredients

Daily Habits That Hurt Your Skin

Many of us are guilty of bad skin habits. Simple things that we do every day can add up to cause serious skin issues down the road:

  • ·  Not using products made for your skin type
  • ·  Not getting enough sleep
  • ·  Scrubbing the skin while washing and/or drying
  • ·  Not drinking the recommended amount of daily fluids
  • ·  Taking showers in very hot water
  • ·  Going to bed with makeup on
  • ·  Picking at skin
  • ·  Using a tanning bed
  • ·  Smoking cigarettes
  • ·  Drinking more than one alcoholic beverage a day

Daily Habits That Help Your Skin

Replace your bad habits with the skin supporting habits below:

  • ·  Using broad spectrum sunscreen daily
  • ·  Washing, toning and moisturizing your face every night
  • ·  Getting 30 minutes or more of moderate exercise
  • ·  Eating an anti-oxidant rich diet
  • ·  Drinking 8-10 cups of water daily
  • ·  Using a daily body moisturizer
  • ·  Minimizing time spent in direct sunlight
  • ·  Wearing sunglasses with UV-blocking lenses
